Mosaic Rainbow

Here’s a neat card I made one day using the Mosaic Madness stamp set and the coordinating mosaic embossing folder.

DSC_0127

Materials:

  • Stamp Sets:  Mosaic Madness, Oh Hello
  • Ink:  Strawberry Slush, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Island Indigo
  • Cardstock:  Whisper White, Pool Party, Strawberry Slush
  • Tools and Accessories:  Big Shot with Mosaic Embossing Folder, Stamp-a-ma-jig

It’s simple as can be – just emboss the Whisper White cardstock with the mosaic embossing folder and then stamp in the center of the quatrefoil shapes.  I am pretty obsessive about wanting everything to be perfectly straight, so I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get each stamp perfectly centered, but if you are using clear stamps and have good aim you could get a good result in less time than I took.

To select the ink colors, I used the Quatrefancy Designer Series Paper for inspiration. Although I did not actually use that paper on this card, I did make a bunch of other cards with it at the same time (this one, for example) and I thought it would be nice if they coordinated.   If you’re ever stuck and can’t decide on a color combination to use for a project, take a look through the catalog and see what color combinations Stampin’ Up has used for their designer series paper.  I’ve gotten lots of good ideas this way!

What is a stamp club, you ask?  Why, it’s a way to get the most for your money when you buy Stampin’ Up! products!  What if you could accumulate some of your favorite products slowly, without spending a lot of money all at once…and at the same time you could get a free class each month AND receive $25 or more in free Stampin’ Up products of your choice??  Does that sound more exciting than just placing a regular order?  It does to me!

Here’s how it works:  Six members each commit to place a $25 or higher order each month for six months.  That gives our group a total order of $150, the minimum required to qualify for hostess benefits.  Each member gets a month to be the virtual “hostess” and collect free goodies!  We will meet at my house once a month for a free technique class, and you will be the FIRST of my customers to receive a free copy of the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog when it comes out next month (you can have a copy of the 2012-2013 catalog as well, if you do not already!)

Do you need to live in Huntsville/Madison, AL to participate in the stamp club?

NO!  You can participate from anywhere in the United States!  With our new online hostess codes, I will be able to give you an 8-digit code each month so you can place your club order online and have it shipped to your own house, while still counting your purchase toward our group’s total to earn those great hostess rewards.  I can give you a written tutorial and even put together a kit with our project(s) from the monthly technique class and mail it to you.

The currently forming club will meet April, May, June, July, August, and September 2013.  If you’d like to join, just email me at stephanie.kokan@gmail.com.

Look at this adorable gift!  One of my fellow demonstrators, Kim Parker, made one of these for everyone at our quarterly group meeting.  It is so cute, I can’t wait to make a few myself for last-minute gifts.

If you’d like to make one of these cute trees yourself, Kim found the tutorial on Brenda Quintana’s blog, Qbee’s Quest.  This is a great project for your Simply Scored tool

Stampin’ Up! is trying out something new this fall and offering SINGLE stamps from some of our more popular stamp sets!  If you love one or two of the stamps in a larger set, you can now buy just the ones you like instead of having to spring for the whole set.  If this pilot program is a success, we may see more single stamps available for purchase next year.

Check out these flyers for images of stamps available for individual purchase:

Here are the details about this new offer straight from Stampin’ Up!

  • These individual stamps won’t be sent to you in our typical cases or packaging; they’ll be packaged in cello bags. If you’d like a case for your stamp, you can buy our Clear-Mount Stamp Cases that come in packs of four (item 119105).
  • This offer is available for clear-mount stamps only.
  • The stamps won’t come with a Clear-Mount Block, and you’ll need to buy a block separately if you don’t already have one. The recommended block sizes can be found on the flyers.
  • There’s no limit on how many pieces you can buy.
  • This offer is not available in Quebec.
  • Remember that this is a pilot program, so take advantage of it while you can!

If you’d like to order some single stamps you can contact me at stephanie.kokan@gmail.com, or order online anytime.  The single stamps may not show up when you are browsing the online store yet, but you can enter the item number from the flyer above in the search box and it should come up.  Happy shopping!
